Ventura County AIDS Partnership invites you to an amazing evening of multicultural food and dance, all to raise awareness and funds for AIDS. We hope you will join us on May 21, 2011!

Seeking Dancers for May 21, 2011

Last year over 300 volunteers and dancers came together for Rhythms of Life: Dance for AIDS to entertain, inspire and educate our community about the impacts of HIV around the world. An audience member described their experience as, “It was amazing. The way the narrators tied together issues and cultures and dances was educational and inspirational. We loved it!!”

Rhythms of Life: Dance for AIDS is a community driven, family oriented, multi-cultural dance performance that inspires and uplifts. This year, we will share stories of people living with HIV. Over 300 guests will be entertained by a cast of 100 performers and volunteers on May 21 at EPIC in Ventura.

Currently, we are seeking dance groups for the event. The main foundation for the event is community engagement, not a 100% professional show. It’s an amazing opportunity to support the cause while gaining exposure for your dance group. We want to connect with people who believe in the cause and want to lend their time and passion for the cause. We are looking for dance groups that are flexible, easy-going, and fun-loving. We encourage interested groups to contact us early as we will review applications on a continual basis. To create a well rounded, multicultural experience, once we have confirmed a particular style of dance it is unlikely that we will accept another group with the same style. Applications are due by February 7, 2011.

Brainstorming and Wine!

We are having a brainstorming session on Thursday Sept 9 6-7 pm in Ventura complete with wine and cheese to discuss the future of Dance for AIDS.
